THE WHY
I have always believed that there are two types of photographers in the world, those that do it as a job and those that have an obsession to make images. For me, once I had experienced how euphoric it was to create a successful image, there was no turning back. Not only was this a means to sustain myself and my family in the world but now it was something that I would commit to for the rest of my life.
It’s hard to explain sometimes what it is to live with this as it is inexorably part of my soul. I used to believe that being a photographer was a passport to life experience and yes I have learnt from cultures and met beautiful peoples that have taught me about myself and the world around me. This understanding has matured into something greater and more meaningful - a gift that has the responsibility of communication, understanding and compassion.
Because it’s not about me, it’s about you.
