CHERNOBYL & PRIPYIAT
The name Chernobyl has a special place in lexicon of human history. Ever since that fateful day in 1986 the world has never really been the same. Since then there have been several nuclear disasters but Chernobyl was the first. Not only was this an environmental disaster but a human tragedy as well. The loss of human life trying to contain the nuclear fallout still continues today through the generations exposed to the cloud of radiation that swept north and west.
It was not till 2010 that Scotland lifted the ban of livestock movement - 24 years after the fact.
