LIFE - PORTFOLIO I
In 1991 I bought a book called The Meaning Of Life by LIFE MAGAZINE. It was a book of photographs and writings by ‘wise men and women’ about reflections on the way we live and why we are here - fairly weighty subjects!
It greatly influenced me in how I photographed the world around me. Sometimes it’s not what you show, it’s what you don’t show that creates a powerful picture, where clues are offered up for the viewer to speculate on, where questions are asked and not necessarily answered.
I have always been fascinated by the ordinary and seemingly mundane. But what is ordinary and mundane to some people is fascinating and exciting to others - it’s all a question of perspective.
